20/5/04 - With help from Michal from the Czech X Wing Site I have a new improved version of the Imperial Icon Pack available for download - Get it while it’s hot
05/5/04 - The Imperial Icons Pack is now available on the downloads page. It’s only little so you might as well all download it now:) In other news work is continuing on testing Battles 1-7.
24/4/04 - Hmm seems that I lied about a speedy release :) However things are stirring here at the TFTC and I want to get into the final phase of testing asap. I’ll soon be contacting some of the people who have requested a place on the testing team but if you want to help out then mail me now and we’ll see what needs to be done.
11/2/04 - Work has been steadily progressing and battles 0 - 7 near release... hopefully :)
In other news the Order of the Sith fan film has gone online. It uses the XWA engine for the space battles and is good for a giggle - Download and enjoy (and watch out for that punch :D)
2/2/04 - Apologies again:( A new version of the trailer is now on the downloads page as the first one had an old version of mission 2 that didn’t work properly. This new Dl has the final version of this mission.
1/2/04 - Slight update to the TFTC trailer as I had the wrong Mission.lst in the first dl. Many apologies but a new xmod is now available. If you already have the trailer it’s easily fixed, just open up the mission.lst file (it’s in the missions folder) and edit the line:
* 1B0M2test.tie
to:
* 1B0M2tftc.tie
Eg edit the word test to tftc. once again many apologies.
1/2/04 - News is rolling in fast at the moment isn’t it? :) This update is actually not TFTC related but it is a general community thing and it’s only temporary fix for B1M1 of the default XWA campaign. Find it on the download page.
Whilst playing through the default XWA campaign with the UCP installed I noticed that Battle 1 Mission 1 doesn’t work. After mailing Darksaber I have started to put together a mission pack that fixes this and any other problems, makes room for the full size SSD and repleces the MC80 used as the Independance with an MC85 (as seen in the movies). This pack is as yet unfinished, however B1M1 is done and as this mission doesn’t work at all without a fix I’m making it available on the downloads page now.
31/1/04 - Good news TFTC fans! A trailer campaign is now available on the downloads page!!! Just a few notes to begin with though - This is the Training campaign which has been released before. However this is a new improved version with speech, Dat pictures for the missions and most importantly missions that actually work:) Once again if anyone spots any bugs or problems then PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!! If I don’t know about it I can’t fix it.
Anyway get over to the Downloads page right now!!!!!
Enjoy :p
30/1/04 - Well Happy New Year!!! Sorry for the lack of updates but I’ve been busy reinstalling everything on my computer. Losing my web editor disk slowed progress down substantially:) Work is progressing on the TFTC. Battles 0 - 7 are finished and just need testing and DAT files for battles 4 - 7 so there may be a release soon. After that we’ll get stuck into Defender of the Empire and Enemies of the Empire as well as some tweaks to the original campaign.
11/12/03 - Not much to say at the moment except that I’ve updated the FAQ for your questioning pleasure.
ods has finished battles 1 - 7 so work is progressing, slowly but surely. Apologies for the ever increasing wait but in the long run it’ll be well worth it:)
3/12/2003 - Darksabers UCP is back in new 1.1 flavour!!:) The point of this folks is that there is a very good chance that future releases of the TFTC will assume that the UCP is standard. It will make the TFTC install simpler as it already contains the Imperial hangar and concourse (and has a silent MK). Although I need more time to see what exactly the UCP does I?m sure I?ll be basing the TFTC on it. Anyone who likes XWA even a little bit should get it anyway :) You can find a link to Darksabers site on the links page.
In other news the final version of the training missions with sounds and DAT pictures is away for testing and will be released as a sort of trailer for the first full release of the TFTC soon.
24/11/2003 - Well the downloads aren’t back up yet and for good reason. The Beta Versions of the TFTC are now history - you’ll never have such buggy and generally rubbish releases again. The final releases (now with sound!!) are on their way. Ods has sent me battles 1 and 2 and I have finished battle 3 so these are now just about ready for testing, which brings me onto the final bit of news. We now have an official tester in the form of Fenris who kindly volunteered for the job of finding out exactly how my xmods don’t work.
In less TFTC related news Darksabers Ultimate Craft Pack (UCP) has gone up and come down again:( Word on the street is that a bug free UCP will be up soon. I mention all this because the UCP will include many elements that should help make XWA an Imperial game. It is therefore likely that the TFTC will require a UCP install to put those elements in place so make sure you download it when it’s released.
That?s all for now folks:)
17/11/2003 - I have taken the download down for the time being as it is still far too buggy and incomplete. I’ll test it all and then get it back up asap. If anyone out there has found any problems with Beta 1.4 then please, please let me know.
16/11/2003 - Beta 1.4 released which is a simple bug fix of version 1.3. Mission 2 now works properly.
15/11/2003 - Beta 1.3 released with the final missions from battle 3 added. Work may well slow down now although I have started the battle of hoth missions.
14/11/2003 - I’ve just noticed that the 1.0 and 1.1 downloads would not solve the missile bug if you had the XWAUP Tie Fighter and Interceptor installed. This is now fixed in the new Beta1.2 download which also features two more Battle 3 missions. Sorry for having a dodgy download for all this time but that?s what happens when I don?t test stuff properly. If this release has any problems then please let me know.
13/11/2003 - A big site rebuild has led to this, more attractive, version. Soon it’ll look like a proper website:) No TFTC updates yet as ods is in the middle of moving house by the sounds of things. Soon there?ll be progress though.
11/11/2003 - Site updated with new banner. Also it looks like ods and I will be working together to bring out a complete TFTC.
7/11/2003 - The download has been revised to Beta 1.1. This now contains the first two missions of Battle 3 as well as some revisions to some of the training mission (you never launch from a corvette now). In other news ods has returned to the XWAUP boards saying that he's got all the TF missions converted in which case I probably wouldn't bother to continue with this project unless people really wanted me to. Time will tell.
6/11/2003 ? Later:) Well it all seems to work. Have added the Aims link and a contact mail address. Use them wisely :p
6/11/2003 ? Well this site should go live if I can get this to work, Hopefully there'll be the first TFTC release on here somewhere as well. I hope you like the site!!! :)
